About Alice Blazy-Winning

I'm deeply passionate about sharing the transformative and nurturing tools of yoga!

I first stepped into a yoga class in 1999 during a stressful time and instantly had a feeling of 'everything is going to be alright'. I practiced Yoga on and off for many years but it was when I was pregnant with of my first child in 2011 that I experienced the truly transformational benefits of Yoga. I was faced with some difficult decisions after a routine test indicated possible health issues with my baby.  Yoga helped me accept my unborn child just as he or she was, and developed trust in my body's ability to grow and birth my baby (like many first-time mums I was terrified of birth!).  This sense of trust and acceptance empowered me to plan a natural birth at home. Today, my yoga practice keeps me grounded and calm amidst the challenges of balancing work and life with a young family!

Since becoming a mum, I'm particularly eager to share the benefits of yoga with other mums and mums-to-be.  I believe practising yoga during pregnancy and motherhood is one of the most nourishing and supportive things you can do during this period of intense change. Yoga helps rebuild physical strength following birth and empowers you to tap into inner resources enabling you to meet the challenges of life with a new baby as well as the onward journey through motherhood with more energy and ease.  By taking better care of yourself, you're also able to truly nurture your children, as well as take a more loving approach to your wider surroundings.  I'm also passionate about protecting and connecting people with the natural environment, I hold an MSc in Ecotourism and have worked in Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park developing sustainable tourism projects for the last 7 years.

Alice lives in Glasgow and has 2 young sons. She is a registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance, and holds an RYT-200 Yoga Teacher certificate with Seasonal Yoga Academy and an additional 95 hour specialism in Pregnancy Yoga, Postnatal Yoga and Baby Yoga & Massage with appleyoga academy.  She also holds a 40 hour Ashtanga Yoga Teaching certificate with David Swenson and a 40 hour Advanced Teacher Training Certificate with Natalie Rousseau.  She's continually upgrading her skills and expertise with world-renowned teachers to ensure she brings you the very best experience. 

Her down-to-earth and compassionate teaching incorporates anatomical awareness with hands-on adjustments and a mindful focus on the breath.  Her classes will leave you feeling stronger, calmer and nourished on all levels.
